Charity Work

Chantal McFeely swimming for charity

Over the past 3 years I have undertaken a number of swims for charity . Below is a timeline of all the open water swims I have completed:

July 2024 -  Swim the Solent for Ian Pratt-MND Foundation:

I swam and completed my first, group open water distance event 'Swim the Solent for Ian Pratt-MND Foundation'. I was required to swim from Gosport - Isle of Wight (7km). This was a special swim as it was their 10th anniversary. I raised over £1000 for River Garden Auchincruive and the Ian Pratt MND Foundation.

September 2023 - Ballast Bank - Lady Isle - Ballast Bank.

This was a solo swim with my amazing kayaker Gordon and my boat support. To get to Lady Isle took about 1.45 hours but the total swim time was about 5.5 hours. I raised £3,500 for River Garden Auchincruive.

September 2022 - Lamlash (Isle of Arran) - Holy Isle - Lamlash

After my first open water challenge the previous year I swam from Lamlash (Isle of Arran)to Holy Isle and back again (2.6miles). My boat support were there to support me and I raised £2000 for River garden Auchincruive.

31st October 2021 - 31st March 2022 - Polar Bear Challenge

I was required to swim not only 3000m per month between 1st Nov -31st March, but to also undertake 10 different challenges, wearing only a swimming costume in temperatures less than 9 degrees Celsius. I raised £500 for River Garden Auchincruive

September 2021 - Lamlash (Isle of Arran) - Holy Isle

I completed my first open water challenge from Lamlash (Isle of Arran) to Holy Isle . I had boat support and was accompanied by my swim buddy Brian. I raised £1500 for Mental Health Foundation.
